When to See a Periodontist?

A periodontist is someone who treats gum diseases and takes preventive measures to ensure you don’t encounter dental problems any further. It’s highly advised that you see a periodontist as soon as you think something’s wrong. Delaying a visit may lead to severe consequences.

Here’s how you will know it’s time to see your periodontist.

  1. Difficulty Biting into Food
If you’re currently facing issues while biting or chewing your food, it’s a clear-cut sign that there’s a problem with your teeth, and you should get them checked. Difficulty in chewing normally means that your teeth have become highly sensitive due to poor maintenance.

  2. Swollen Gums
An obvious sign that you need to visit your periodontist is if your gums are swollen or bleed when brushing or flossing your teeth. Bleeding gums can indicate that you have gum disease, and to prevent its progression, it’s recommended that you see your periodontist immediately.

  3. Loose Tooth
Sometimes, when our teeth have been damaged quite a bit, they tend to become loose and maybe dangle from our gums if not taken help from a periodontist right away. A loose tooth can make one encounter many other problems, such as difficulty in biting.

  4. Pain and Discomfort
If your teeth hurt a lot and are causing you discomfort, it’s time to go for a routine checkup. You may never know what dental problems you may encounter unless you properly consult a periodontist. So, go to a dentist without wasting any time as soon as you experience any pain in your teeth or gums.

If you have any of the symptoms mentioned above, please visit Syrpes and Pangborn right away to receive the best treatment and prevent any further problems.
